Hi I have read the discussions on this forum. I understand that Kite Publisher is free of cost and buttons can be on my webpage, Android app or blog etc. My Q is : If I provide buy/sell recommendations from my webpage/blog/app 1) Do I need SEBI advisory license? 2) Is this the same as getting registered with SEBI as an investment adviser? 3) Is it illegal in India - will I or Zerodha be in any legal trouble - if I use Kite Publisher without the license, if required? 4) Any workaround? 5) Any other regulatory requirements for using KP?
What Kite publisher does is, opens up our exchange approved web based platform Kite with all details pre-filled. This happens after the client enters his login ID and password, so essentially client is doing the login and placing trade bits, so no issues for us.
If you are giving recommendations on a website, and for a consideration, it is best to be registered as an IA.
