how do I fix "Uncaught DOMException: Failed to execute 'send' on 'WebSocket': Still in CONNECTING"

I'm using vanilla js and referring to the code given
here
. After running the code, the console is throwing as error message saying "Uncaught DOMException: Failed to execute 'send' on 'WebSocket': Still in CONNECTING state"
