GTT Qty Limit

Saleem
Lets say I have bought High quantity of a Nifty option, say 3000. If I try to create GTT for this qty, I get an error message like this...
Error Msg: Invalid `quantity`, should be less than freeze quantity (1801).
I get this message while creating GTT from the API.

I dont think there should be restriction like this from API, If I can BUY/SELL this qty, I should be able to create GTT also for the same qty.

Thanks,
Saleem

A GTT order is treated as a single trigger-based order, and the triggered order must individually comply with the exchange-defined freeze quantity limit (currently 1800 quantity or 27 lots for NIFTY options). While large quantities can be traded by splitting orders into multiple legs, this approach does not apply to GTTs, as they place the entire quantity in one order when triggered. If the specified quantity exceeds the freeze limit, the GTT creation fails with an “Invalid quantity” error. Kite Connect does not expose freeze quantity limits via the API, so these constraints must be handled at your end or you can place multiple GTT orders within exchange prescribed freeze limit.

Also, can you let me know the freeze quantity for Sensex options and individual stocks also if any?
