Does kite provide a sandbox environment for the purpose of testing our code before putting real money on the line? I tried searching online, but found that there is no such thing as for now. In that case, what is a good way to test our applications before running it for real.
Zerodha does not currently offer a sandbox environment for the Kite Connect API. All trades and market data accessed through the API operate in real-time on live markets.
However, providing a sandbox environment is on our roadmap. In the meantime, Kite Connect Personal is available at no cost, and users may test the APIs by placing orders after market hours or by using an account without sufficient balance to avoid actual trade execution.
Thanks for the reply. A sandbox environment is a much needed thing in my opinion. Most major platforms have such a thing and it makes sense for something like this. Hope it comes out soon.
We have it on our to-do list, but unfortunately, it is not a priority task since it has an OMS vendor dependency. Kite Connect personal is free, users can place an order after market hours or from an account that doesn't have a balance and test out the APIs.
