Clarification needed on selling local desktop trading software using Kite Connect

ZionRulerAj
Hello Zerodha Team,

I am seeking a written clarification on whether the following product model is permitted for commercial sale to Zerodha clients, and whether it requires any approval or empanelment under Zerodha policy or the current retail algo framework.

Model:

* I sell a desktop software licence to individual users.
* The software runs only on the user’s own local machine.
* I do not host or operate the software remotely.
* I do not collect or store the user’s Zerodha login or Kite Connect credentials.
* The user uses their own Zerodha account and own API credentials.
* The software is not sold as advisory, tips, research or strategy trader.
* The user controls the risk parameters in the software.
* The software can automatically ONLY EXIT(no entry) orders based on the user configured risk logic only.

Please confirm in writing:

1. Is this model permitted for commercial sale to Zerodha users?
2. Does Zerodha classify this as a third-party algo provider use case?
3. Is broker approval and/or exchange empanelment mandatory before such software can be sold?
4. If approvals are required, what is the exact process and which team should I coordinate with?
5. If approvals are not required, under which permitted usage category does this model fall?

I would appreciate a clear written classification so that I can proceed compliantly and avoid building a product structure that conflicts with Zerodha’s API terms or the exchange framework.
