I am trying to place NCO-FUT orders through the Kite API, but I am receiving the following error while placing the order:
"NCO orders are not allowed via API. Please place your order using Kite web or the Kite app."
From this message, it appears that NCO orders are currently not supported through the Kite API.
I would like to confirm:
Are NCO orders officially unsupported via the Kite API? Is there any alternative order type/API workflow recommended for automating futures trading strategies with stop-loss and target orders? Are there any plans to enable NCO orders via API in the future?
Due to this restriction, I am currently unable to fully automate my trading strategy.
1. NCO (NSE Commodity Derivatives Segment) orders are currently not supported through the Kite Connect APIs. The error message you are receiving is expected behaviour, and such orders can presently be placed only through Kite Web or the Kite mobile application.
2. For API-based automation workflows, you may consider using standard order varieties and implementing your own strategy logic for stop-loss and target using Regular & GTT orders. Please check the API documentation for more details.
3. At the moment, we do not have a timeline regarding support for NCO orders through the Kite Connect APIs.
