Converting an order from LIMIT to MARKET

Hi,

Is an order convertible from LIMIT to MARKET?
Or do I have to cancel the limit order and make a new market order of the same quantity?
Kite seems to do it in an automated way but the documentation does not say that the order_type is modifiable. https://kite.trade/docs/connect/v1/#modifying-orders

Yes, You can convert a LIMIT Order to MARKET Order

Below possible conversion
LIMIT --> MARKET
SL-M --> LIMIT
SL-M --> MARKET
SL --> LIMIT
SL --> MARKET

Below is not allowed.
LIMIT --> SL-M
LIMIT --> SL
