Volume and OI always coming as 0 in Historical Data

I use .Net Kite Connect library to fetch historical data. I am able to fetch the data. But the Volume and OI attributes are always 0 for all the candles. Can you let me know how to fetch them?

oi=1 required to get OI information from historic data api.

For which contract are you fetching historical data? Is it any indices? Can you let us know the contract name/instrument token?
Indices don't have volume and OI.

I tried Nifty 50. Why doesnt it have volume and OI ? Others do have volume.

It's indices, it doesn't trade.
