Permission for private historical backtesting and local data storage

surendra1606
Hello Zerodha team,

I have an active Kite Connect subscription with Historical Chart data. I am building a single-user application for my own historical research on my local computer.

Please confirm whether I may:

1. Download NSE/BSE historical OHLCV candles through the official API.
2. Retain reusable private CSV/Parquet datasets and backups.
3. Use these datasets for historical backtesting.
4. Export simulated trades, equity curves and performance metrics for my own use.

There will be no redistribution, public display, third-party access or real-time paper trading.

Please clarify any storage, retention or deletion requirements, including whether downloaded datasets may be retained and reused after the subscription ends.

If separate permission is required, please explain how to obtain it.

Thank you.

    hi

did you managed to get this answered? I don't want to ask the same question particularly because your question was not answered.

Even if I design backtesting to not store any of the historical data, are we allowed to store the back testing results which will include simulated trade timestamps, entry and exit prices, signals, strategy parameters, and calculated profit or loss?

    Thanks
