PermissionException while getting trying to get access token

I am making request to
curl -k https://api.kite.trade/session/token -d "api_key=xxxx" -d "request_token=xxxxx" -d "checksum=xxxx"

and i am getting this response

{"status": "error", "message": "That API call is not allowed for the authenticated user", "error_type": "PermissionException"}

There is no mention of PermissionException anywhere in the documentation also.

Hi, Is the app type 'publisher' ? It should be Connect.

@rahilsharma publisher app cannot be used to access full api. Please create a app with type "Kite connect + Publisher" to get full api access.

@pankajiit_cse Both the apps you created are Publisher apps. You need to create a Connect app.

yes I have managed to use it but historic data api is taking bit longer...any trick?
