It looks like kite disconnected while kite.trade was logged in, if only this is articulated in error message correctly, it would save a lot of time.

It means your api_key or access token is invalid. Are you sure using official python client?

yes, I have got the one from kite.trade web-site. The error does not immediately make sense, think of giving a more elaborate message. It will save time figuring it out.
