AMOs on Saturdays/Sundays and Market Holidays

Hi,

When placing the order via Kite publisher and I was getting this error - adapter is not ready.

Read through the forum and found that regular orders are accepted only during 9:15 to 3:30 pm. After 4 pm, we have to send a AMO order and not a regular one.

Couldnt find any documentation on what happens other time. Couple of questions here:

1. What should the order variety be while placing orders between 9:00 to 9:15 am and 3:30 to 4:00 pm
2. Will AMO orders be accepted the entire day on Saturdays/Sundays and Market holidays?

Can someone help?

Hi @nvineeth,

1. What should the order variety be while placing orders between 9:00 to 9:15 am and 3:30 to 4:00 pm

For equity segment, you can place normal orders from 9:00 AM. All AMOs for equity will be rejected after 9:00 AM.
Currency segments start from 9:00 AM. For F&O, you can place AMO till 9:10 AM
You can place AMOs post 3:30 PM for both equity and F&O segments. For currency, you can place AMOs post 5:00 PM.

2. Will AMO orders be accepted the entire day on Saturdays/Sundays and Market holidays?

Yes, you can place AMOs on public holidays and weekends.

Couple of followup questions:
1. On public holidays and Sat/Sun, will we have to place AMOs throughout the day?
2. What happens on Saturdays when there is mock trading on Exchanges?

On a separate note, is there a way to figure out via APIs if market is on holiday; so that we dont have to keep a holiday calendar.

Yes, you can place AMOs on weekends throughout the day.

2. What happens on Saturdays when there is mock trading on Exchanges?

You can trade on the mock trading day. All data will be wiped off by end of the day on by next day.

We don't provide APIs for public holidays. You can check out trading holiday and settlement holiday calendar here
