For the basic Kiteconnect subscription (without historical data add-on), you should consider adding the past few days (2 to 3) of historical data without any additional cost.
This will cover the downtime of the API / Zerodha, and fill the data gap, without the need for subscribing to full historical data add on.
I believe that it is very reasonable to ask for API access to the past few days of historical data.
