It's not mandatory to use in-built web browser which uses IE. You can use modern browsers like chrome to login. You can refer this link for login flow.
To login using chrome; Click on Login Manual button in KiteXL It will open up login page in your chrome or the default web browser. Post login you will be redirected to your redirect_url with request token. Just copy the request token. Click on Token Manual button in KiteXL Paste the request token. That's it.
