Cancelling subscription before expiry

I cancelled my subscription yesterday evening (3-6-2019) . Expiry of the current subscription was up to 5th June 2019. I had the understanding that despite the cancellation ,I would be able to use the api till expiry. However, today (04-06-2019) when i try to use the request token to generate access token , I get "Invalid `api_key`" error.
Kindly clarify.

    Once you cancel the subscription, you won't be able to use it.

    Ok, accepted, though difficult to justify. My subscription was in auto debit mode, I wanted to change that. But could not find any method other than cancelling the subscription. Please enlighten if I had some other choice to change my standing instruction w.r.t. auto debit.

    You need to unlink your Zerodha account from the billing page of the developers console.
