what is the difference between Limit Order & SL-M order? how exchange execute this type?

what is the difference between Limit Order & SL-M order? how exchange execute this type?
some google search suggests that Limit will be best since market order will be given last priority and slippage will be more in the market order.
1. Can someone tell the process/execution difference between the same?
2. Can someone list down the pros and cons of the same?
