I read in some discussion here that the api provides intaraday data (1min, 5min interval) for the last 3 years but i also read that nifty and bank nifty intraday data is available for the last 6 years since 2015. Just wanted to confirm which time period is true for stocks . Since I'm looking for NSE stocks intraday (1min, 5min) data so wanted to confirm what's the period that I can get that data for.

Yes, Nifty 50 and Bank Nifty index data is from 2015. Also, for most Nifty 50 stocks, we have intraday data from 2015 onwards. This thread explains more on this.
