This morning, during order placement around 9:16 AM, I experienced a major issue with the Kite API while placing multiple intraday cash-equity orders. I received the following error repeatedly for around 10–15 different tickers:
"Order request timed out. Please check the order book and confirm before placing again."
The problem: The Kite website orderbook showed no orders at all at that moment. The API returned timeout errors for every order. After a delay of about 2–4 minutes, between 9:18–9:20 AM, the orders suddenly started appearing in the order book and began executing automatically. There was no confirmation / no reject response from the API during the timeout period. This caused uncertainty and risk because I couldn’t know whether the orders had gone through.
This might be an issue at the API or OMS layer, possibly involving third-party vendors or backend systems, where order placement requests were delayed and processed late.
Requesting you to please check the backend logs and confirm what happened around 9:16–9:20 AM today (14-11-2025).
Requesting an update or RCA?
Thanks
