Dear Zerodha, @sujith The rate limits 5 ops 200 opm 2000 opd Do these limits apply for a specific Zerodha account or a specific api (api-key/secret)? In other words, if the same api is managing more Zerodha accounts, say 2, will all the limits increase by 2 for the api, though remaining the same at account level?
All the rate limits are api_key based. But the 2000 order limit per day is for all the Zerodha accounts across all the platforms, it has nothing to do with Kite Connect APIs.
Thanks for the quick reply @sujith So, what is the mechanism to handle multiple clients? How do businesses which have multiple hundreds/thousands of clients scale with this restriction?
The 2000 order limit will still hold true for all the accounts, it is restricted across the platform. There will be a change in the API rate limits for the approved platforms. You will have to check with the compliance team by writing to kiteconnect(at)zerodha.com with the product description and get it approved. They will let you know how to go further after approval.
