Historical Data Unavailability

atulsingh7890
I have been looking at the Forum for this

No candles found based on token and time and candleType or Server busy.

This has been occurring since yesterday.

Besides this is also being reported earlier, we are still facing this issue.

Is there anyone from Zerodha listening this, Please look into this.

    Hi @atulsingh7890,
Can you let us know the interval and params what you are sending? We will check and get back to you.
  • atulsingh7890
I am fetching Reliance Eq data for the last year in the minute interval of a single month wise.

It is running successfully for last 3-4 months, But failing for March, Feb, Jan, Sept 16 and for the data that is more than a year old, It's failing for every call.

Its emitting exception as No Candles available or Server is busy.

I have introduced a delay of 5 seconds also before making any request, But API is not behaving consistently.

This behavior is for 4-5 other equities as well. Couldn't try more due to failures.

Can you please let me know, is there any document where there is detailed information for the Proper usage of API, as its seems like every single API that we make for the data of age more than 6 months is failing consistently.
  • sujith
    Hi @atulsingh7890,
May be request is timing out before you get the response. Can you reduce the time interval from 30 days to 20 days and try?
  • atulsingh7890
have tried with Passing an Interval of 2 Days only with a minute.
Not working still. Even there is 5 seconds delay between every API call.

I am facing the same issue. Are you guys having a joke with me. It is not fun Be professional or shut down your worst web service. Stop making fool to customers
  • Vivek
@atulsingh7890 @ravi_ranjan We are trying to reproduce the issue but need some clarity on the issue.

    1. While fetching minute candles for time range before 6 month, was it always giving error with no candles found? or is it intermittent?
    2. If you are fetching candles for one or two days and it happen to be trading holiday then we send no candles error message. So please check if you are sending correct time period.
    3. If you can post few from and to time dates for which you have experienced the issue it will be useful for us to debug it.
  • atulsingh7890
I have skipped Saturday and Sunday and if its Holiday , it should give error for one day.But its continuosly giving error for whole month days
    We are using Kite Python.

You can check our request logs if that are present on your server.

We can even show you sample code if you can arrange some meeting.

    Hi @atulsingh7890,
We have minute level data for NSE segment from March 2014, I think you are accessing data which is not there.
153824004 is not ITC, it is ITC6 for which data is not there because it was not traded. You must be looking for ITC A category scrip of BSE like 128224004.

One of the wrong behavior, I have observed is if data is not there I think the request is timing out before it responds as NO candles. I have forwarded this to data team.

You need to help us to help you. There are times when we are working on something response might be delayed.
May be pointing us to the right scenario can help us fix the issue. We did try to reproduce the issue and didn't find any issues from our end.
Please give us more details like is it happening at the same time every day, what type of connection are you using, where are you hosting your server?
